What do you do if you can't afford a dentist?
It’s very common for patients to assume that the cost of preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dental care is too expensive. In fact, some even skip their biannual checkups and postpone essential treatments for that very reason! If that’s the case for you, don’t worry – we aren’t here to judge. Instead, we’re here to help you navigate the financial side of your treatment. We are happy to welcome dental insurance and flexible financing, and we offer periodic specials to help lower your out-of-pocket expenses as well. In other words, if you are at all concerned about the cost, don’t hesitate to ask us about the financial solutions we offer!
What level of education is required to be a dentist?
Becoming a dentist requires years of schooling as well as a commitment to continuing education courses each year. The entire journey starts with an undergraduate degree, which is usually in a major that’s heavy in math and science. From there, they must attend an accredited dental school in the U.S. to earn either their Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS). Once they become a licensed dentist, they need to complete continuing education hours and advanced training annually.
How do I get emergency dental care?
The answer really depends on one question: are you experiencing any potentially life-threatening symptoms? If you are having trouble breathing, your face is extremely swollen, or you can’t seem to swallow, then call 911 or head to the ER right away for medical attention. If you aren’t, then the best thing to do is call us ASAP so we can get a better understanding of what happened and how urgent the situation is. Since we offer convenient appointment times (including lunchtime and after 5 PM), there’s a good chance that we’ll be able to see you the very same day, if needed. If we can wait until the next day for your treatment, then we will provide you with instructions on what to do until you arrive for your appointment as well.
How much does a dental checkup & cleaning cost in Flower Mound?
You might be surprised to hear that there isn’t a flat fee for dental checkups and cleanings. The reality is that there are several factors that go into the price, which is why we can’t provide you with an accurate estimate here. We can, however, share some of the factors that influence the number, like if you need X-rays and if you have dental insurance. As we mentioned above, we’re here to help you with the financial side of your treatment as well, so don’t hesitate to let us know if you’re interested in learning more about the price leading up to your appointment.
